Loki Season 2: Tom Hiddleston Teases the TVA Battle
Loki Season 2 will bring back MCU regular Tom Hiddleston for his second solo adventure as the god of mischief, when his Disney+ show returns to streaming territory in the summer of 2023. And after Season 1 threw TVA into utter chaos with He Who’s death. Rest, everything is going to break in the next six episodes.
The Time Variance Authority played a big role in Loki’s first season making its long-awaited MCU debut, as the organization found the titular antihero within moments of stealing the Tesseract from the Avengers and stealing the Time Heist during Time Heist. The group continued to develop behind characters such as Owen Wilson’s Mobius and Gugu Mbatha-Raw’s Judge Rensselaer over the last five episodes, before the “Sacred Timeline” was ruined by Loki and Sylvie’s quest to find out the truth.
Now, as Marvel Studios prepares for another round of Loki’s solo adventures, its stars have spoken for the first time about what to expect from TVA when the series returns to Disney+ next summer.
Tom Hiddleston on Season 2 TVA Madness

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly after the presentation of Loki Season 2 at the D23 Fan Expo, stars Tom Hiddleson, Sofia Di Martino and Ke Hui Kwan discussed what to expect from TVA next season.
Di Martino looks back on how Sylvie “accomplished her mission” against TVA at the end of Season 1, sharing her excitement to see things happen to her after taking revenge on those who wronged her. Where do you go:
“At the end of [Season 1], Sylvie kind of fulfills her mission. She’s been trying to get some kind of revenge on TVA for the whole series, and that kind of ends up in this super-complicated fight. Loki and she’s killing what remains, so I’m really excited to see where she goes next and how she feels about this.”
Hiddleston teased the idea that Season 2 focused largely on “a battle for the soul of TVA”, with Kwan expressing how excited he is for fans to finally see what he and the team worked on. has done. Kwan finally celebrated being able to talk about his involvement in D23 after his casting was announced, adding that even his own family was not aware of the news:
Hiddleston: “Season 2 is the kind of question asked by TVA itself, a fight for the soul of TVA.”
Kwan: ”And I say this, it’s really cool, even though we can’t talk about it! I’m so excited for audiences to see it next summer. I’m so glad that Marvel has partnered with me.” Because I’ve been holding onto this secret for so long. No one knows, not even my family! Now the secret is out, I can talk about it!”
Hiddleston: “You want to maintain the thrill of the audience seeing it for the first time.”
Disney confirmed a major TVA presence in a short synopsis for Loki Season 2, which echoed Hiddleston’s sentiments about the organization’s “soul”:
“Season 2 begins after the shocking season finale when Loki finds himself in a battle for the soul of the Time Variance Authority.”
Disney+. But TVA’s lead role for Loki
After more Earth-based organizations like SHIELD and Hydra made headlines for the MCU via the Infinity Saga, the Time Variance Authority holds the same level of importance in the Multiverse Saga. This time, it’s even more so, due to the fact that the Multiverse has officially plunged into insanity after Loki’s death in episode 6 itself.
Season 1 writer Michael Waldron teased the fact that there is “new ground to cover” with Loki continuing his run in the MCU, especially as he finds himself developing further as a character. It expands even further thanks to Doctor Strange in the multiverse of madness, with new forms of heroes and villains now entering worlds other than their own.
Additionally, set photos have teased TVA’s increased presence in Season 2, as both Hiddleston and Wilson were seen in their suits and ties that they wear while representing the outfit. No matter what his specific role in the next round of episodes, hopefully TVA won’t be in the background too often.
Season 2 of Marvel Studios’ Loki will debut on Disney+ in summer 2023.
