The Artemis program is a space program directed by the US space agency NASA.
The purpose of which is to send people back to our moon and collect more data about .
Artemis was the twin sister of Apollo and the goddess of the moon in Greek mythology.
The Artemis program will be the first step towards the long-term goal of establishing a permanent
presence on the Moon, and will also send the first woman to the Moon. The Artemis program will
specifically land the next astronauts on the Moon’s South Pole by 2024.
“President Donald Trump has asked NASA to expedite our plans to return to the Moon and return
humans to the surface by 2024.
We will go with innovative new technologies and systems to explore more places on the surface.
This time, when we go to the moon, we will stay there. And then we’ll use what we learn on the
Moon to take the next giant leap – to send astronauts to Mars.”
Jim Bridenstine, NASA
The main trip of the Artemis program, “Artemis 1”, will be a sort of test in which the automated
Orion case will endure 10 days circling the Moon. [6] It will circle the Moon a ways off of 60,000
kilometers (37,000 mi). After that he will get back to earth.
