She-Hulk: Attorney at Law has taken its place as arguably the most interconnected MCU Disney+ series of all time, using regular cameo appearances to help advance its story. In the first five weeks alone, fans have got whole new stories for Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner and Benedict Wong’s Wong, and it’s all before their highly anticipated return to the not-too-distant future of Charlie Cox’s Daredevil.
While She-Hulk has already gotten used to showing off its fair share of big-name MCU characters, there are a couple that weren’t able to get used to in Season 1. Most notably, that group includes Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, who remains one of the MCU’s biggest characters after starring in the MCU’s most successful single to date, Spider-Man: No Way Home. .

In an exclusive interview with The Direct, She-Hulk lead writer Jessica Gao revealed that the team was not actually allowed to use Spider-Man due to rights issues in partnership with Sony Pictures. But that’s not stopping some of the starring actors from imagining what the story will look like at some point down the street in the friendly neighborhood of Holland’s Spider-Man.
She-Hulk actor pushes for Spider-Man cameo

Talking with E! Online, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law stars Josh Segarra and Renee Ellis Goldsberry teased the idea of Spider-Man making a cameo on the Disney+ show.
Segarra noted how his character, Pug, is actually “saved by Spider-Man” in the comics, leading to a dedication to protecting superheroes. Even though the show couldn’t quite get Tom Holland’s MCU Spidey, Segarra, and Goldsberry, the two would be happy with Tobey Maguire or Andrew Garfield as well:
Segarra: “Pug in the comic book is saved by Spider-Man, and that’s why he devotes his life to protecting the superhero. So, I’m just wondering what Tom is up to. If he’s busy So it’s just one day. One day we shoot scenes. I was just wondering what they are- Andrew, what’s going on bro?”
Goldsberry: “Toby? Tobe?”
Segarra: “Yeah guys! Where are we at friends?”
E: “Multi-Choice Crossover.”
Segarra: “Just saying… come on, what are you doing?”
Goldsberry kicked things off the Spider-Man conversation, mentioning real-world pop star Beyoncé as a substitute with “other powerful, especially female characters from the Marvel Universe”:
“Beyoncé is promoting an album right now, that’s great. I’d love her to be here. I’d love to see any other powerful, especially female characters from the Marvel Universe. I want them to come here and there.” Play. Or I’m available. I have to go there.”
Goldsberry continued to praise the show for its use of courtroom scenes, calling them “everything [she] ever dreamed of,” although she was certainly hoping for “a musical number or two”. Broadway musical Hamilton.
Segarra also stated that a musical number “could be … what [they are missing],” pushing for the introduction of She-Hulk: The Musical and bringing something that Hawkeye’s Rogers: The Musical would bring. Looks similar to.
Goldsberry also spoke with ComicBook’s Phase Zero podcast about her character, Mallory Book, who has a long history in comics.
She especially enjoys “her beauty being a little mysterious”, which doesn’t have to fill in as many blanks as she would with other characters:
“Oh my god. Well, the beauty of her being a little bit mysterious on the show is that I had all that space to fill in the blanks for myself. I didn’t have to do, like, something… you know, generally As an actor, you have to put forth a lot of your own ideas and then sometimes… nobody knows them so they don’t materialise.
In this instance, I understood why she was powerful, I understand Came to see why she wasn’t afraid of She-Hulk… I understood how she can go in any direction, sometimes she’s a nice girl, sometimes she can be an enemy. I’m very Something made sense and it helped me find my way in the middle of the season as much as I couldn’t have done without it.”
Could Spider-Man ever appear on She-Hulk?
Sony’s biggest superhero will certainly make a big impact on She-Hulk, should Marvel and Sony find a way to bring him into Disney+ territory in a live-action capacity. While he did what if…? Before his solo series, Spider-Man: Freshman Year, it’s a little harder to field Peter Parker’s version of Holland outside the animated realm.
Given that Spider-Man is still one of Marvel’s most popular heroes, it’s no surprise that both Segarra and Goldsberry insisted on him to appear in the story alongside Jennifer Walters and her co-workers at GLK&H. Gave.
In fact, only physical distance would make Spider-Man’s appearance difficult, with the web-slinger hoping to remain anonymous in New York City, while Jennifer Walters in Los Angeles as a lawyer on the other side of the country.
With three years on the way, fans are definitely looking forward to these two lead characters interacting with each other for the first time in those multiverse-threatening adventures.
The first five episodes of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law are now streaming on Disney+.
