Star Wars enthusiasts all throughout the world are interested in Andor. The most recent Disney+ series is being praised by critics as being the finest of the lot, even if it may not have the same enormous following as shows like Obi-Wan or The Mandalorian.
Many were undoubtedly surprised by it considering that the show’s lead character didn’t even play the lead in his first film. Nevertheless, he is now in charge of some of the franchise’s strongest narratives
Although it has been stated that the series is largely telling its own contained plot, there are still many Easter Eggs for fans to find. After all, the program will need to relate to some topics because it is about the beginning of the Rebellion.
But now a shocking link between the series and a popular film has been made public, and it has to do with the divisive movie The Last Jedi.
Abandoned Last Jedi Idea Is Passed Down to Andor
A surprising connection between Star Wars: Andor and The Last Jedi has been uncovered, according to Star Wars YouTuber Kyle Katarn.
The most recent episode of Andor has Syril Karn, played by Kyle Soller, wandering through the Bureau of Standards until finding employment there towards the conclusion of the episode.
Evidently, Snoke’s Supremacy ship from The Last Jedi was intended to be a component of the design for that office. In Episode 8’s production designer Todd Cherniawsky’s words, “Rian Johnson initially had the [bullpen] concept” for a Snoke scene in The Last Jed, Katarn disclosed in a video.
“The concept to add this enormous bullpen aboard Snoke’s ship, filled with bookkeepers and pencil pushers, was first conceived by Rian Johnson. Later, a new version of the concept was developed for the Andor Bureau of Standards.”
The YouTuber claims that they recently chatted on the phone, which might be how Katarn obtained the quotation.
Lucasfilm’s Phil Szostak appears to have confirmed the information, pointing out that a deleted version of The Last Jedi is indeed available on Disney+:
The “Mega Destroyer Incursion” deleted scene from The Last Jedi, which is detailed below, may be found in Disney+’s Extras section or as concept art on page 171 of my book “The Art of The Last Jedi.”
What may have happened
Fans frequently learn about potential plot elements for The Rise of Skywalker. Less and less often, audiences find out about The Last Jedi’s deleted scenes.
As Szostak noted, the deleted scene from The Last Jedi that takes place in an office setting is available to view in the movie’s Extras section on Disney+. Although it is significantly smaller in the one that was shot there than it is in Andor, Finn and Roses’ expedition into the Supremacy would have included it.
The likelihood of the ship appearing again is remote because it was obliterated in the Sequel Trilogy. There is still a chance that Palpatine’s cloning technology may appear at some point in that previous timeframe, though, considering the possible allusions to it in The Mandalorian.
Now available on Disney+ for streaming are Andor and The Last Jedi.
