Why a Hulk Solo Movie Is More Likely ? As the second Hulk-focused project in the MCU, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law raised the question of whether the television show would act as a springboard for the character’s solo comeback to the big screen. Furthermore, it appears that a significant hint about this MCU’s future development was given in the finale.
Bruce Banner’s off-world activities in Sakaar were the subject of a conversation between Jen Walters and Kevin in the finale that broke the fourth wall. However, Kevin was cut off by She-Hulk, who instructed him to “save it for the movie.”
Another standalone Hulk movie is in the works, as Jen’s casual remark strongly suggested, and this was further hinted at by the appearance of Skaar, the Hulk’s son. The director of She-Hulk has now elaborated on why a solo Hulk film is the next significant development for the character.
Director of She-Hulk Justifies Need for Hulk Solo Film
Kat Coiro, the director of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, sat down with ComicBook.com to discuss her aspirations for a prospective solo Hulk film in the MCU.
Coiro eagerly said that she would be “100%” interested in directing a solo Hulk film when questioned about her desire.
The MCU director continued by mentioning that she loves the connection between Tatiana Maslany and Mark Ruffalo’s characters and that “putting it to the big screen would be a no-brainer:”
“100%. One of my favorite aspects of the entire series, as I mentioned at the beginning and will continue to do so, is the chemistry between Tatiana and Mark and their sibling, the big brother/little sister connection. And I believe that making that for the large screen would be obvious.
When questioned by JoBlo if there were any discussions for a She-Hulk Season 2 during their interview, Coiro said that it was “still up in the air:
“That isn’t decided yet. Yes, as we jokingly point out in the conclusion, she is quite pricey. We’ll thus wait to see where she shows up next.
The identical Season 2 query was posed to prominent performer Tatiana Maslany by The Hollywood Reporter. The MCU director said that she doesn’t have any notions about the sequel since she likes to be surprised.
Maslany continued by saying that she just wishes to uphold the “spirit of She-Hulk” of “never being what you anticipated it to be”:
“No, Jen has a better idea of who she is than I do. I wish to be surprised often, which is why I was eager to read this pilot and why I found the plot to be so engrossing and exciting throughout. I was astonished by every occurrence, as well as by our actions and our communication. Since the essence of She-Hulk is never what you anticipate it to be, for me, it’s just a matter of carrying on with that legacy.”
Will Marvel Soon Announce a World War Hulk Movie?
Given her experience with the concept and the performers, Kat Coiro’s readiness to helm a solo Hulk film is a hopeful development. Even so, the statement from the director will stand as Marvel Studios hasn’t made an official announcement about the project, which is thought to be a World War Hulk movie.
Given that so many various components are currently in place, it appears that a formal announcement is the only thing still lacking in the jigsaw at this point.
To begin with, Skaar’s entry is a significant plot point that has not yet been fully developed. A fascinating feature to further explore on the big screen is the interaction between Tatiana Maslany and Mark Ruffalo, as Coiro noted.
In actuality, there had previously been earlier clues concerning the solo Hulk project. Ruffalo seemed to suggest that the Green Goliath had a promising future by saying that he could envision the character “going back to ‘Berserker Hulk’ or ‘World War Hulk'” during his discussion about the character’s future.
The studio could be targeting next year’s San Diego Comic-Con or D23 as the occasion to finalize those plans, but Marvel might just be waiting for the proper time to reveal its eventual solo Hulk movie.
Whatever the case, it’s obvious that The Incredible Hulk’s tale is far from ended and that it will continue to have a major influence.
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is currently available to stream in its entirety on Disney+.
